Katherine Grant
Owner/Stylist
Katherine was born and raised in North Little Rock and had dreams of owning her own salon since she was a young girl. She graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and Christian Studies. She then attended Bee Jay's Hairstyling Academy in Little Rock, where she studied cosmetology (hair, nails and skin care) and graduated in October of 2007. She passed both the written and practical exams and was licensed by the State Board of Cosmetology in the following months. She worked briefly as a stylist in North Little Rock before opening Katherine Grant Salon and Spa with her husband, Gary, in June of 2008. She splits her time between managing the salon and catering to her clientele. She continues her education by attending cutting and coloring classes several times a year. She prides herself in listening to what her clients want and helping teach them how to maintain their new look when they get home.

Kate Murray
Stylist
Kate was born and raised in North Little Rock, where she and her husband, Blake, now reside. Her background as an artist developed her passion for cutting and coloring hair. She started doing hair as a hobby and developed a love for making people look and feel their best. She graduated from Bee Jay's Hairstyling Academy in Little Rock and was licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology. She has worked as a stylist for six years now, joining Katherine Grant Salon and Spa when we opened in 2008. Kate has helped with Channel 4's "Knock, Knock Make-over" and has been involved in helping with local fashion shows. Her work has been in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette for several featured weddings. Kate has done freelance make-up for Laura Mercier and for Suzanne Yee's make-over ads. She continues her education by attending classes throughout the year. She loves what she does and "is appreciative to the people who believe in her and have made her business successful."

Laura Gunnels
Stylist
Laura was born in Arkansas, but raised in Texas. She graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. After college, she settled in Arkansas with her husband, Caleb, and attended The Salon Professional Academy in North Little Rock, graduating as a level 4 student (the level system is judged according to the number of clients served, products sold and services performed, with 4 being the highest). She holds a cosmetology license from the Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology and joined the Katherine Grant Salon and Spa team in 2009. Laura's work has been featured on KATV's Midday Arkansas and she has participated in several fashion shows featuring hair and make-up. Laura is creative and confident and her work shows it.

Laney Eldridge
Stylist
Laney lives in DeWitt, Arkansas. She commutes, working part time at Katherine Grant Salon and Spa (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and part time at a salon in DeWitt. Laney graduated from the University of Arkansas, Monticello with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management. She has been busy the past seventeen years raising her children and helping her husband, Bart, with their farm, while also doing hair and make-up for weddings, proms and pageants around Arkansas. She is a graduate of the Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School in North Little Rock and holds a license in cosmetology from the Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology. She has a passion for her work and loves creating new looks. She also has experience making clip-in extensions colored to match her client's hair.

Herb Newman
Barber
Herb is an Arkansas native and was raised with family members who worked in the field of cosmetology. He and his wife, Joan, live in North Little Rock. He graduated from Eaton Barber College and was licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Barber Examiners in 1980. Herb has been serving clientele in Little Rock, North Little Rock and Sherwood for 30 years. Over the years, he has attended countless classes and hair shows to expand his knowledge of the latest trends and products. He joined the Katherine Grant Salon and Spa team in February of 2010. He enjoys what he does and has worked hard to make people in central Arkansas look good for many years!

Carrie Smith
Nail Technician
Carrie grew up in the Maumelle area. She holds an Associate's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Little Rock Community College. After working in several different fields, she graduated from Lee's School of Cosmetology in 1992. She became licensed by the State Board of Cosmetology that same year. She was one of two people who made a perfect score on the written exam and a 98% on the practical portion of the exam. She is a certified "Master Nail Tech" with OPI and has over 300 hours of continuing education classes both in and out of Arkansas. Carrie, and co-worker, Susan owned "A Peaceful Place Spa" for four years before joining the team at Katherine Grant Salon and Spa. Carrie has been doing nails for eighteen years now and says "it's been more than just a job." She is enriched by the people she is proud to call her clients and her friends. She goes the extra mile to make sure her work is perfect and her clients are pleased.

Susan Smith
Nail Technician
Susan was raised in Texas, but now lives in North Little Rock with her husband, Bob. She attended Thelma's Beauty Academy in Little Rock and was licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology in 1992. She has been working as a nail technician in Central Arkansas ever since. Susan, and co-worker, Carrie, owned "A Peaceful Place Spa" for four years before joining the Katherine Grant Salon and Spa team. She specializes in manicures, pedicures and beautifully sculpted nail enhancements. She has received special training in custom blended acrylic enhancements, which are sculptured nails that can be blended to compliment skin tone, natural nail color or colored polishes. Susan enjoys making people feel pampered and relaxed.

Mark Roth
Massage Therapist
Mark was raised in Arkansas and lives in North Little Rock with his wife, Sandra. He is an R.N. and holds a diploma from Baptist System School of Nursing. He graduated as a massage therapist from the Academy of Healing Arts and has been a massage therapist for seven years. He has training in several massage styles, including hot stone, but prefers layered and firm kneading of muscle tissue to break up inflammation. However, he does a wonderful and relaxing Swedish massage if preferred. He is also a knowledgeable supplier of vitamins and detox kits. He teaches detoxing and performs body wraps for inch loss, as well as natural facials for acne and fine lines. He believes his medical background and his association with ultra-marathons has been beneficial in treating injury. Mark also offers laser hair removal. He graduated from the National Laser Institute in Phoenix, Arizona as a Certified Laser Technician in 2006. Mark works hard to please his clients and has been voted best massage in North Little Rock.
